Looking for a Review on TEFL Online Pro? Here’s What You Need to Know.

Did you know that TEFL Online Pro and “Trusted” TEFL Reviews are actually run by the same person?

That’s right—the so-called “independent” review site is just a front to promote TEFL Online Pro with fake reviews, bogus awards, and false claims of accreditation.

The person behind this scam operates under multiple names, using “Mia Williams” on Trusted TEFL Reviews and “Paul Murphy” on TEFL Online Pro. And this isn’t even his first scam—he’s pulled the same trick before, which I’ll reveal soon.

If you’re considering TEFL Online Pro, be warned: their entire operation is built on deception.

You’ll see in the video below that TEFL Online Pro and Trusted TEFL Reviews were created around the same time on the same hosting. Yes, this could just be a coincidence but after doing so much research we and many other TEFL course providers can be 100% positive that Trusted TEFL Reviews was created to promote TEFL Online Pro and to give bad reviews of it’s competitors.

If you challenge them in anyway, you will receive abuse both online and physically. We emailed the owner of Trusted TEFL Reviews (David Neville) aka “Mia Williams” and received this reply below.

TEFL Online Pro is Not a Registered Corporation in Any Country

tefl online pro

TEFL Online Pro is not a legally registered corporation in any country, which raises concerns about potential tax evasion. To work as a teacher legally in any country, a TEFL certificate must come from an accredited and officially registered provider. Employers may view a certificate from TEFL Online Pro with suspicion, potentially affecting job opportunities. It’s advisable to choose a reputable, accredited TEFL provider instead.

Before enrolling in the TEFL Online Pro course, it’s important to request their company registration number and the country in which they are legally registered. However, you are unlikely to receive a response, as they are not officially registered and may be operating fraudulently. Asking these questions can help you make an informed decision and avoid potential risks.

My Nightmare with TEFL Online Pro – Fake Certificates, Threats, and Harassment

Hey everyone,

I’m sharing this as a warning to anyone considering TEFL Online Pro for their TEFL certification. This company is not only misleading about their accreditation but also resorts to harassment and intimidation tactics when questioned.

How It Started – The Costly Mistake

In September 2024, I enrolled in TEFL Online Pro’s 120-hour Professional TEFL/TESOL course, paying $147.50. After successfully completing the course, I shelled out another $57.00 in October 2024 to receive my certificate—under the impression that it was internationally recognized and would help me land teaching jobs.

The company’s website made big promises: their certificate was supposedly widely accepted, opening doors to both online and in-person teaching opportunities worldwide. I believed them.

The Moment of Truth – A Useless Certificate

Excited, I submitted my shiny new TEFL certificate to a reputable school—only to get a blunt response: REJECTED.

Turns out, TEFL Online Pro is not recognized. Schools won’t accept their certificates, meaning I’d just wasted over $200 on something completely worthless.

Frustrated, I did some digging. That’s when I discovered:

  • Numerous warnings about TEFL Online Pro on the r/TEFL subreddit and sites like ESL Insider.
  • The so-called “independent” review site, TrustedTEFLReviews.com, is actually run by them. (Yep, the same company reviewing itself. Huge red flag.)
  • Countless other victims reporting similar experiences—fake certificates, rejection by schools, and hostile behavior when trying to get refunds.

Asking for a Refund – The Threats Begin

Since they had lied about their accreditation, I rightfully filed a refund request through PayPal. That’s when things took a dark turn.

Instead of handling my request professionally, TEFL Online Pro decided to:

Accuse me of chargeback fraud.
Threaten to blacklist me from teaching jobs.
Call me dishonest and unethical.
Claim they would warn schools about me.

Wait, what? I was the victim, yet they were trying to ruin my reputation for asking for a refund?

Escalating to Harassment

At this point, I was already warning others online. But TEFL Online Pro took things even further.

They started sending emails to my personal blog, and here’s where things got seriously disturbing:

👉 They claimed they had contacted the police near where I live (yeah, right) and that I was under investigation for “online defamation.”
👉 They warned me to delete all my posts, cancel my refund request, and stop talking about them.
👉 They somehow figured out I have a child and even accused me of child abuse—all because I dared to expose them.

That’s beyond shady—it’s straight-up harassment and defamation.

Why This Matters & How to Protect Yourself

If you’re considering TEFL Online Pro, run in the opposite direction. This company is:

🚩 Not recognized by legitimate schools
🚩 Operating fake review websites to fool customers
🚩 Threatening and harassing customers who speak out
🚩 Trying to intimidate people into silence

I’ve already reported them to PayPal, GDPR authorities, and several consumer protection agencies. If you’ve been scammed by them, fight back. File complaints, demand refunds, and most importantly—warn others.

This has been a nightmare, but I refuse to let them bully me into silence.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me—justice will be served.

How to Spot an Online TEFL Scam: Key Red Flags to Watch For

Trusted TEFL reviews scam

Choosing a TEFL course is a big decision, but with so many scams out there, it’s important to do your research before handing over your money. Here are the top warning signs to help you avoid being scammed by shady TEFL providers.

🚩 1. Fake or Unrecognized Accreditation

Legitimate TEFL providers should be accredited by recognized educational bodies—not random organizations they made up. Watch out for:
✅ Accreditation from nonexistent or unverifiable institutions
✅ No accreditation information available at all
✅ Vague claims like “internationally recognized” without proof

💡 What to Do: Always check with reputable accreditation bodies like Ofqual (UK), DEAC (USA), or the British Council before enrolling.

🚩 2. Over-the-Top Positive Reviews (Especially on Their Own Website)

If every review sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Scammers often create fake review websites to boost their reputation. Red flags include:
✅ A “review” site that only promotes one specific TEFL provider
✅ Identical writing styles across different “student” reviews
✅ No negative reviews at all

💡 What to Do: Cross-check reviews on independent platforms like Reddit (r/TEFL), Trustpilot, or TEFL forums before trusting a provider.

🚩 3. Unrealistic Job Guarantees

No TEFL provider can guarantee you a job. Be wary of courses that promise:
“100% job placement” after completion
✅ High-paying jobs without experience or qualifications
✅ Direct hiring through their “exclusive partners” (which often don’t exist)

💡 What to Do: Check if the provider offers legitimate job assistance (resume help, interview prep, etc.), rather than empty promises.

🚩 4. No Clear Contact Information

A legitimate TEFL provider should have:
✅ A real business address (not just a P.O. box)
✅ A working phone number
A professional email domain (not just Gmail/Yahoo)

💡 What to Do: Try calling or emailing them with a few questions before signing up. If they dodge your inquiries, it’s a red flag.

🚩 5. Rushed Enrollment & No Refund Policy

Scammers love to pressure people into quick decisions with:
“Limited-time discounts” that are always available
“Act fast or lose your spot” tactics
No clear refund policy (or one that’s impossible to use)

💡 What to Do: Read the refund policy carefully, and don’t rush into paying just because of a fake deadline.

🚩 6. Lack of Transparency About Instructors

A quality TEFL course should have qualified instructors with real teaching experience. Red flags include:
✅ No mention of who teaches the course
✅ No access to instructors for questions or feedback
✅ No details on their TEFL/TESOL credentials

💡 What to Do: Look for providers who have real instructor bios with verifiable experience.

Final Thoughts: Protect Yourself From TEFL Scams

Before enrolling in any TEFL course, do your homework:
Verify their accreditation
Check independent reviews (not just their website)
Ask about job support & instructor qualifications
Read the refund policy carefully
